Equine Challenge is a milled, food-grade, Flaxseed-based, forage-specific, highly bio-available daily vitamin, mineral, trace element, and digestive probiotic supplement.
Equine Challenge Supplements were specially formulated by the late Dr. Mackie K. Hartwig, a chiropractor and nutrition expert who was an avid barefoot advocate, as well as an instructor at the Oregon School of Natural Hoof Care. He developed different formulas for different hays and a few specific regional conditions, and created fantastic products that fill in the gaps of a typical hay diet. For most horses, Equine Challenge and Hay is all you need!
There are 3 forage specific Vitamin/Mineral versions available below: the original Vitamin & Mineral for most horses; the Southwest regional version for forage grown in Arizona, New Mexico and West Texas; and the no added Selenium regional version for areas with high selenium forage -- all available for either grass or alfalfa hay diets. We also offer separately, their high quality Probiotics and Flax, for purchase below.
Equine Challenge Supplements contain no byproducts or fillers such as ground alfalfa, wheat millrun, wheat middlings, soymeal, beet pulp, rice bran, soybean or oat hulls. Equine Challenge Supplement products contain no corn, no wheat, no alfalfa, no soy beans, no molasses, no soy oil, no mineral oil, no vegetable oil and no corn oil. The oil in Equine Challenge Supplements is the oil naturally found in Flaxseed, primarily Omega 3's and Omega 6's. Equine Challenge Supplements are synergistically proportioned to provide the nutritional building blocks and maintain the metabolic balance of your horse, regardless of whether you feed alfalfa, grass or oat hay.

Equine Challenge Probiotic Concentrated seven strains of viable Bacillus and bacteria in a milled flaxseed base makes an effective pro-biotic that can be easily incorporated into your supplementation program. The microbial sources are guaranteed to provide bacteria that are both viable and effective in promoting intestinal well being. We do not use probiotic extracts but rather give the viable microbials, which will colonize the gut, producing digestive enzymes, antibodies, synthisize a host of B Vitamins and cofactors. Probiotic extracts are no more than enzymes which have incredibly long shelf lives, but will not colonize the gut or produce anything which will support intestinal well being. Researchers report that when animals are fed lactic acid bacteria, the activity level of the immune system increases and, therefore, are less susceptible to disease. Beneficial bacteria, especially Bacillus, produce many enzymes that may help to improve feed (nutrient) utilization. Protease, amylase and other enzymes produced by pro-bacteria serve to break down complex feed molecules into less complex nutrients. These smaller smaller components are more readily used by the animal (greater bio-availability). Equine Challenge Probiotic BLAST Provides the same 7 strain viable probiotic package, PLUS the addition of 2 Pre-biotics, Fructoogliosaccharides (FOS) and Mannanoligosaccharides (MOS) , "oligo" meaning "little or scant" and "saccharide" meaning "sugar". These PRE-biotics are indigestible to the horse but rather support the hindgut or cecal well being by promoting "friendly" bacteria and having a negative impact on the "bad" bacteria. This mechanism helps to stabilize the intestinal micro-flora in the presence of digestive stress such as sudden dietary changes, grain overload, exposure to more lush forage or grasses. Other stresses include transportation, environmental changes, training, antibiotic therapy and such. PRE-biotics are destructive to pathogens in the gut and makes it difficult for pathogens to adhere to the gut lining and help with their elimination with other toxins from the gastro-intestinal system. There appears to be a symbiotic relationship between the combination of both the PRO-biotic and the PRE-biotic use. Together these two elements create a greater positive gastrointestinal metabolic support than these elements have individually. In more simple terms, PRE-biotic feed and nourish the "good or friendly" bacteria while preventing the "bad" bacteria an opportunity to flourish thus maintaining a stable micro-flora leading to a thriving gastro-intestinal tract. Price Includes shipping in Continental USA! 5 lb Foil Pouch: $44.95 10 lb Pail: $79.95 20 lb Pail: $141.95 40 lb Sewn Bag: $262.95 132.3 lb (60kg) Drum: $824.95 (Select size in shopping cart) Recommendations for use: Storage: Store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight. Equine Challenge PREbiotic Equine Challenge™ PREbiotic contains two different prebiotics, Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) and Mannanoligosaccharides (MOS) , "oligo" meaning "little or scant" and "saccharide" meaning "sugar". These PRE-biotics are indigestible to the horse but rather support the hindgut or cecal and colonic well PRE-biotics are destructive to pathogens in the gut and make it difficult for pathogens to adhere to the gut lining and help with their elimination with other toxins from the gastro-intestinal system. These PRE-biotics will enhance the existing bacterial or micro-flora environment of the equine gut. At anytime the horse is under stress from whatever origin, the micro-flora status of the horse is threatened. Adding Equine Challenge™ PRE-biotic to your horse's diet will help to stabilize the existing micro-flora of the gut and decrease the possibility of negative consequences resulting from digestive disruptions thus reducing incidences of colic. In more simple terms, PRE-biotic feed and nourish the "good or friendly" bacteria while preventing the "bad" bacteria an opportunity to flourish thus maintaining a stable micro-flora leading to a thriving gastro-intestinal tract. Equine Challenge™ PRE-biotic is a greater concentrated stand alone product which has a much greater shelf life due in part that this product contains no viable ingredients. This will allow greater flexibility for the horse owner in feeding based on individual horses needs and or circumstances. This product is NOT a replacement for the use of Probiotics. This product feeds the existing micro flora of the gut. Equine Challenge Flax Human grade Canadian milled flax seed, the same milled flaxseed used with all other Equine Challenge products. Flaxseed contains 28% dietary fiber of which 7-10% is soluble fiber (which dissolves in water) and 11-18% is insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber will turn into a jelly like consistency and will slow the introduction of glucose into the blood stream and will help move sand through the gut. Soluble fiber is of great benefit to horses with insulin resistance and equine metabolic disorder. 50% of the dietary fat in milled flaxseed is the essential fatty acid, Omega 3 (alpha linolenic acid). Omega 3 EFAs will help produce a nice shiny coat and will help with many dry skin issues. Flaxseed is rich in anti-oxidants, high in Omega 3 fatty acids, high in both soluble and insoluble fiber at a price which is hard to beat. Price Includes shipping in Continental USA! Equine Challenge Laminae 911 Equine Challenge Laminae 911 herbal
support helps build strong, healthy laminae. Equine
Challenge Laminae 911 is formulated to help compromised
hoof tissue to heal more quickly. It is not just
the hoof but the many other systems which support the
hooves such as the immune system, the circulatory system,
the gastro-intestinal system and organ support such as
the kidney, bladder and liver. While providing both anti-inflammatory,
anti-pyretic (fever) and analgesic relief in a more natural
way, without the negative aspects of NSAIDs and
Bute use. Immune system support via Oregon Grape,
Garlic, Quercitin and Stevia. Vascular or circulatory
integrity support and vaso-dilation via Butchers
Broom, Hawthorn, Garlic, Boswellia, Quercitin and Stevia.
Gastro-intestinal support via Devils Claw, Yucca
and Slippery Elm. Kidney and Bladder diuretic support
via Juniper Berry and Uva Ursi (Bear Berry). Liver
support via Oregon Grape. Anti-inflammatory, Anti-Pyretic
(fever) and Analgesic support via White Willow Bark, Devils
Claw, Oregon Grape, Garlic, Boswellia, Quercitin and Boneset. The thriving horse depends on all the body

the healing support which is required. If one system
is overwhelmed by another, it is more difficult for the
entire horse to establish functional healing repair. Once again, synergy is required for the horse to functionally recover with a minimal amount of suffering. Equine Challenge Pissy Mare Equine Challenge Supplements is proud to introduce its first herbal support for horses....Wildcrafted Red raspberry leaves (Rubus idaeus). The parts of this plant have been used for over a thousand years for more than just the tasty berries. The leaves have traditionally been used to calm the females of many species to include the horse. Traditionally, the leaves are used to increase or strengthen the uterine tone of pregnant mares and has been used to support the flushing or cleaning of the uterus post delivery. Raspberry leaves have been used to calm the hyperactivity and aggressive behavior of mares in estrus. This would apply to young maiden mares as well as older brood mares. There are claims that raspberry leaves will help stallions with fertility issues. The use of raspberry leaves is not encouraged or recommended in the first trimester of pregnancy due to possibility of miscarriage, but its use is encouraged for mares in the third trimester for ease of foal delivery. Pissy Mare may help your mare be more comfortable during her cycles. If your mare is moody, cranky, or has hard cycles, this all-natural herb may help. Ingredients - 100% Wildcrafterd Raspberry Leaf.
